anationalnon-profitthatsupportsdisabilityinclusionintheworkplace.“Ihadalotoffolksinmypost-accidentlifewhohelpedmealongthewaytoshowmethereweren’ttoomanythingsthatIcouldn'tdo.Theyreallyhelpedmegetgoingandstartedinmycareer.Peoplewithdisabilitiesdon'thaveenoughrolemodels.Theyjustdon't.Butoncesomebodywithadisabilityseesthatsomebodylikethemisdoingsomething,itmakesitsomucheasiertobeabletoaccomplishhisorherdreams.Iwantedtobethatforsomebodyelse.”SupportingMSD’svisionofdiversityandinclusionJayalsopaysitforwardbybeingactiveintheMSDcapABILITYNetwork,whichpromotesdiversityandinclusionforMSD’semployeeswithdisabilities,workerswithdisabledfamilymembersaswellasotheralliesthroughouttheorganization.Jayisproudtoworksomewherewithsuchastrongcultureofdiversityandinclusion.“Manypeoplehavedifferentideasaboutwhatdiversityandinclusionmeans,”henotes.“Whatitistomeisusingyouruniqueperspectiveatwork.Everybodycomestoworkfromadifferentplace,fromadifferentexperience,fromadifferentethnicity,fromadifferentlifeexperience.They'velearnedthingsthatyouhaven'tlearned,thatIhaven'tlearned.Wewanttousethatuniqueperspectivetofurtherthebusiness,tofurtherthegoals,tofurtheryourteam,tofurthereverybodyyou'reworkingwith.IstronglybelievethatMSDisacompanythatwalksthewalk.”SincethefirstHIVproductsbecameavailablenearlytwodecadesago,MSDhasworkedtoexpandaccesstoourmedicines,buildhealthcareinfrastructure,andaddresshealthanddevelopmentchallengesaroundtheworld.MSDmaintainslongstandingeffortstodeliveritsmedicinestothosewhoneeditmost,includingdifferentialpricing,voluntarylicensing,public-privatepartnerships,philanthropicprograms,andcontinuedresearchanddevelopmenteffortsinHIV.
